Legoland Malaysia by car from Singapore: route, parking and day plan
Written and reviewed by the Radiant VEP Solutions team.
The drive from Singapore to Legoland Malaysia: Tuas and the Second Link to Exit 312, the Woodlands alternative, the tolls and what pays them, which car parks belong to the park, and how to plan a day with children across the theme park, water park and SEA LIFE.
In this article
To reach Legoland Malaysia by car from Singapore, take the AYE to Tuas Checkpoint, cross the Second Link, clear Malaysia at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (KSAB) and stay on the expressway until Iskandar Puteri Exit 312, where Legoland's signs pick up the route. Park in Zone 1 or Zone 2, because Zone 3 beside Mall of Medini no longer belongs to the park.
We would start with Tuas and look at the cameras before leaving home, since parts of its departure car zones are closing in phases until late 2027. When that queue looks bad, Legoland's other route runs through Woodlands, past Danga Bay and along the Coastal Highway.
For the day itself, do the outdoor rides first. Legoland warns that thunderstorms usually arrive in the late afternoon or early evening and that lightning closes outdoor attractions, so the indoor things are better kept for later.
Key takeaways
- Drive through Tuas, cross the Second Link and leave the expressway at Iskandar Puteri Exit 312. The Woodlands route goes past Danga Bay and along the Coastal Highway.
- Bring a stored-value card for the Singapore toll and Touch 'n Go for the Malaysian one. They are separate payments in separate currencies, and neither checkpoint has a top-up machine.
- Set your map to the car park, not the park. Legoland lists parking at Zone 1 and Zone 2 and gives the coordinates as 1.431208, 103.630554.
- Day tickets allow one entry a day, so take what you need from the car before you go in. Outside food is not allowed except for infants or special medical needs.
- Check Legoland's calendar for your date. The Theme Park and Water Park close on different days of the week.

The route from Singapore to Legoland Malaysia
Legoland's directions page gives one route through each checkpoint. Both end at 7 Jalan LEGOLAND, Bandar Medini Iskandar Malaysia, in Iskandar Puteri.
| Stage | Through Tuas | Through Woodlands |
|---|---|---|
| Expressway to the checkpoint | AYE | BKE |
| The crossing | The Second Link bridge, 1.92km | The Causeway |
| Malaysian checkpoint | Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (KSAB) | Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) |
| After the checkpoint | Carry on to Iskandar Puteri Exit 312 | Head for Danga Bay, then turn for Iskandar Puteri on the Coastal Highway |
| Last stretch | Follow Legoland's directional signs | The resort comes up before Kota Iskandar |
How long the drive takes
Legoland's own travel guide (10 February 2025) says 30 to 40 minutes from central Singapore through the Second Link. Read that as a clear-road number. ICA reported car travellers leaving at peak hours over the 2026 National Day weekend waiting up to three hours for immigration clearance, after tailbacks from Malaysia.
Tuas or Woodlands for Legoland Malaysia
Tuas is the default. KSAB is on the same side of Johor as Iskandar Puteri, and Exit 312 is on the expressway that starts there. From BSI you are in the middle of Johor Bahru with the Coastal Highway still ahead of you.
Woodlands suits two situations: you live in the north or east of Singapore and the BKE is the shorter way out, or the Tuas cameras look worse than the Woodlands ones. It also costs less, as the toll table below shows.
The Tuas lane closures
ICA began replacing the officer-staffed car counters at Tuas with automated clearance lanes on 1 September 2026, and parts of the departure car zones close in phases until the works finish, expected in late 2027 (ICA, reported by The Straits Times on 26 August 2026). The report gives no dates for each phase and mentions only departure lanes, so nobody can tell you from home which lanes will be shut on your day. Our Woodlands or Tuas guide has the rest of the comparison and the busy dates.
Check the cameras
LTA's traffic cameras page on OneMotoring has three views each for Tuas and Woodlands, and every picture is stamped with its date and time. For Tuas, the one called After Tuas West Road shows the approach and the one called Second Link at Tuas shows the bridge. ICA's advice is to check traffic before setting off and to consider non-peak hours, such as early mornings and late evenings.
Driving a large MPV
Large MPVs may be sent to the bus zones for clearance at Tuas in both directions, under an ICA arrangement that started on 2 January 2024 with no end date given. ICA names the Toyota Alphard, Toyota Vellfire, Hyundai Starex, Hyundai Staria and Maxus, so if you drive one of those, expect a different lane from the rest of the traffic.
Tolls and what pays them
Each payment below goes through a different system. The Singapore figures are LTA's (last updated 28 May 2025), the Malaysian tolls are from PLUS's fare calculator (checked 2 November 2026), and the road charge is from JPJ's FAQ (read 2 November 2026).
| Charge | Through Tuas | Through Woodlands | Paid with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Singapore toll, leaving | S$2.10 | S$0.80 | NETS CashCard, Motoring Card or CEPAS card at the immigration booth |
| Singapore toll, coming home | S$2.10 | None | The same card |
| Malaysian toll at the plaza | RM6.14 at Tanjung Kupang | RM2.37 at BSI | Touch 'n Go card or SmartTAG |
| Malaysia's road charge | RM20 per entry | RM20 per entry | Touch 'n Go eWallet |
The plaza figure comes with no direction on PLUS's calculator, so keep enough on the card for the way home as well. LTA is firm on the Singapore toll: you still owe it if the barrier lifts by itself. Top up before you leave home, since neither checkpoint has a top-up machine.
A Motoring Card cuts down the cards in the car. Touch 'n Go's help centre says it pays checkpoint tolls in Singapore and highway tolls, checkpoint tolls and parking fees in Malaysia. It has an EZ-Link purse and a Touch 'n Go purse, and each is topped up on its own.
The rest of the crossing rules are in our checklist for driving across.
What to have ready before the checkpoint
- A fuel tank at least three-quarters full when you leave Singapore (LTA).
- Printed copies of your insurance certificate and road tax validity, plus a valid driving licence. LTA says Malaysian officers may ask for the printouts.
- A passport for each person, children included. A Singapore passport must be valid for more than 6 months on entry. Singapore passport holders are exempt from the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card, and other foreign nationals in the car must complete it before arrival (MFA).
- A MyICA QR code, made before you reach the checkpoint. One group code holds up to 10 travellers and must match the number of people in the car. Bring the passports anyway, because the code only clears you through Singapore. Our QR clearance guide goes through the steps.
Legoland Malaysia parking
Legoland's parking is at Zone 1 and Zone 2, and its directions page gives the car park coordinates as 1.431208, 103.630554. Zone 3, beside Mall of Medini, no longer belongs to Legoland, and parking promotions only count at Zone 1 and Zone 2.
| Question | What Legoland says |
|---|---|
| Where | Zone 1 and Zone 2 |
| Charge | RM10. The directions page says per day and the FAQ says per entry, so ask at the gate if you plan to drive out and back |
| Paying | Touch 'n Go service is available |
| Parking for the disabled | Zone 1, near the park entrance. Phone the park in advance; it depends on availability |
| Triple-Park Annual Pass holders | No charge at Zone 1 and Zone 2. Get the parking ticket validated at Guest Services in The Beginning before you leave |
| Hotel guests | Parking is part of the Resort Fee. There is no valet |
What to leave in the car
Bags are searched before entry, and Legoland asks guests to allow time for it. The park's lists rule out scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, tricycles, kickboards, glass bottles, alcohol and outside food and drink, with an exception for infants and special medical needs. If your child's scooter is in the boot, it stays there.
What the resort holds
Legoland Malaysia is four places on one site. Legoland sells a combo ticket for the Theme Park, Water Park and SEA LIFE.
| Place | What is in it | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Theme Park | 8 lands and more than 40 rides, shows and attractions, including MINILAND, a model of Asia in over 30 million bricks | A full day on its own |
| Water Park | More than 20 slides, rides and water play areas, with a wave pool and the Build-A-Raft River | Children who swim or like splashing. Babies under 3 must wear a waterproof swim diaper in the water |
| SEA LIFE Aquarium | Over 13,000 creatures from 120 species in 11 zones, with daily talks and feeding sessions | Small children, and a wet afternoon. Legoland says 1 to 1.5 hours |
| Legoland Hotel | 263 LEGO-themed rooms, with standard rooms sleeping up to 5, a walk from the Theme Park gate | Families doing two days instead of one |
Height limits to check before you promise a ride
These come from Legoland's height page (read 2 November 2026). The same page lists the rest, and the sign at each ride has the final say.
| Ride | With an adult | Alone |
|---|---|---|
| DUPLO Playtown | No minimum | Not listed |
| Lost Kingdom Adventure | 80cm | 120cm |
| LEGO NINJAGO The Ride | 80cm | 120cm |
| Boating School | 86cm | 130cm |
| The Dragon | 105cm and age 4 | Ask at the ride; the page is unclear |
| Driving School | Ages 6 to 12, no height minimum listed | Not listed |
At the Water Park, DUPLO Splash Safari starts at 91cm. Red Rush, Splash Out and Twin Chasers start at 102cm, and Tidal Tube, Brick Blaster and Wave Rider at 107cm.
How to plan the day with children
Pick one park as the day's plan, and add SEA LIFE only if the children have energy left. We would save the second park for a second day, because one drive across with a full day of rides is already a lot for a small child.
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| The night before | Top up the cards, print the papers, generate the QR code, look up the calendar for your date |
| Before you start the car | Check the Tuas and Woodlands cameras and read the timestamps |
| Morning | Outdoor rides, with the one your child came for at the top of the list |
| Midday | Lunch in the park. Legoland says its menus use halal-certified ingredients and include vegetarian options |
| Late afternoon | Shops, a meal or indoor attractions, which is what Legoland recommends for the storm hours |
| Heading home | Check the cameras again, and have the toll card within reach |
With a baby or toddler
Go to Imagination, the land with the DUPLO play zones. Baby Care centres have bottle warmers, high chairs and a microwave, all restrooms have changing tables, and strollers can be rented in the park. Bring your own milk and baby food: infant food is the exception to the outside food rule.
With school-age children
Measure them before you go and check the table above, so nobody hears no at the ride gate. Agree a meeting point too: separated children can wait at the Guest Services counter in The Beginning. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
For the Water Park
Pack proper swimwear. Exposed zippers, buckles, rivets and metal ornaments are not permitted. Changing rooms and showers are inside the turnstiles and lockers are available. Lifejackets are compulsory for children under 8 on the wave pool and the Build-A-Raft River.
Frequently asked questions
Which checkpoint is best for Legoland Malaysia?
Start with Tuas, since Legoland's route from there runs straight to Iskandar Puteri Exit 312. Woodlands is cheaper and suits drivers from the north or east, or a morning when the Tuas cameras look bad.
How much is parking at Legoland Malaysia?
RM10 at Zone 1 and Zone 2 when we read Legoland's pages on 2 November 2026. Its directions page says per day and its FAQ says per entry.
Can I pay for Legoland Malaysia parking with Touch 'n Go?
Legoland's FAQ says Touch 'n Go service is available at the car park. It does not say whether that means the card, the eWallet or both, so carry the card.
Can we leave Legoland Malaysia and come back the same day?
Not on a day ticket, which allows one entry per day. Annual Passes allow several.
Can we bring our own food into the park?
No, unless it is for an infant or a special medical need. Alcohol is banned outright.
How long does the drive from Singapore take?
Legoland says 30 to 40 minutes from central Singapore through the Second Link, and the figure says nothing about checkpoint queues. ICA reported waits of up to three hours at peak over the 2026 National Day weekend.
